On November 20, according to the official website of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), the international standard IEC TS 63222-2 "Power Quality Management Part 2: Power Quality Monitoring System" led by State Grid Henan Electric Power Company (hereinafter referred to as "State Grid Henan Electric Power") was officially released, which is the first IEC international standard led by State Grid Henan Electric Power, and it is also another major breakthrough in the field of international standards after the company established three ITU international standards this year.
IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is the world's oldest non-governmental international electrotechnical standardization body, working in the fields of electricity, electronics, telecommunications and atomic energy. Power quality research team of State Grid Henan Power Company has focused on power quality monitoring and analysis technologies. After careful planning and preparation for over two years, NP "Electric Power Quality Management Part 2: Electric Power Quality Monitoring System" was successfully approved through voting by 19 formal member countries including United Kingdom and France in November 2020. The standard went through four stages: “workgroup draft, committee draft 1, committee draft 2, and voting", and passed the voting with 100% of the votes in June 2023, and has been officially released a few days ago. This standard provides technical specifications for the power quality monitoring system architecture, data acquisition, communication, data storage, application analysis and some other aspects, and provides guidance and reference for the construction of power quality monitoring systems at home and abroad.
In 2023, State Grid Henan Electric Power accelerates the pace of standard establishment and achieves a breakthrough in international standards from point to surface. In April, Executive Committee of IEEE PES Energy Storage Technical Committee (China) agreed to establish "Waste Battery Recycling and Processing Subcommittee" initiated by Henan Electric Power Research Institute. In June, IEEE standard "Technical Guidelines for Hybrid DC Transmission Control and Protection Equipment" led by State Grid Henan Electric Power was officially published. In September, three ITU international standards including "Reference Architecture for Security Assessment of Power IoT Data Management" led by State Grid Henan Electric Power were approved, achieving a "zero breakthrough" in the ITU international standard project. In November, the first IEC international standard "Power Quality Management Part 2: Power Quality Monitoring System" led by State Grid Henan Electric Power was officially released.
In the next step, State Grid Henan Electric Power Company will continue to give full play to its advantages in technology and talents, strengthen the leading role of standards, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with IEC, ITU and other standardization organizations around the needs of new power system construction, and promote the transformation of innovation achievements in advantageous fields into international standards.(State Grid Henan Electric Power: Zhang Jingchao, Dai Shuangyin, Zhao Li)
